I personally couldn’t make that trade. I had a fairly modified SS 1LE and I test drove a few ZL1’s to see how I felt about them. I was generally unimpressed and felt that they were more nose heavy than I wanted them to be. The power was nice and all but it didn’t feel like there was enough of a difference to justify the cost when really, if you added a LT4 supercharger to the SS 1LE, you’d likely be hard pressed to tell the difference behind the wheel of either car.

Which is why I opted for a C7 Z06. If you’re in the market for this type of car, give it a quick spin and see how you feel about it. It was enough of a change from my 1LE to make me feel justified in the swap. Also, the weight difference between the Z06 and ZL1 was the nail in the coffin on my end.
