I had thought about doing that as well. That is a pretty significant difference in tire size thought. The 285/35R20 is 27.9inches tall and the 295/30R20 is 27.0inches tall.
This makes the sidewall 0.45inches smaller than stock… My initial thoughts are the smaller tire would take less torque to rotate/weigh less and lower height by 0.45inches. I would also think a smaller sidewall would also make the tire more stiff and reduce the sidewall wear but it might make the rear end too loose considering I put a larger rear sway bar in......
