Stupid Tire Questions

I'm not real tire wise ... here is what I am thinking.

I have just started reading about tires for this car and it is a bit overwhelming.

Are the tires that come on a new 2010 Camaro Z-Rated and were they specifically made for this car? I'm thinking if someone wants to show this car 20 years from now it would be better to have the original tires that came with it.

I want to have some fun with a car that is making about 580 hp. I will certainly burn these tires off in short order and there is no sense wasting them. I want to keep the stock 20" rims and put some tires on that are not terribly expensive, will last longer than z-rated tires and will run safely at 140 mph. I would like to take the car down the drag strip a time or two for fun just to see what it will do. I don't want tires that are so sticky as to threaten my stock axles (which are in enough peril already with 580 ponies). I also want to go slightly wider than stock on the rear. I am thinking 285/40 on the rear and 245/45 on the front.

Any suggestions? ... thoughts?
