Firmer springs don't have to ride harshly as long as they're not so low that you're getting into the bump stops a lot more frequently. Beyond that, harshness is more commonly associated with design choices in shock/strut damping curves.

I do notice the visual difference yes though it's slight. I have a pretty good eye for noticing things that only bother me lol.... i was thinking of ordering front springs with a 1"drop and rears with a 1.25" drop but I am unsure of which brand to go with that has those numbers.
