The same team did the engineering on the XLR and C6. Also built by the same team in Bowling Green KY. If you look under the skin, you'll see the same hydroformed rails and chassis bits.
In the end it was more money for less HP and performance. Even the XLR-V, an awesome car, didn't cut it.
