As far as I know, GM is still investigating the noise.
I can tell you that we are seeing the upper strut to spring grommet tearing on OE struts on a regular basis. But all the ones that I have seen do not have a noise complaint. In fact, I have not driven a Camaro with any front end noise issues. Guess I have been lucky.
But GM is working on it. Has been a while and I do not think they have updated it as of yet.
