The spacers are purely there to give the maximum amount of clearance on the nose of the car . . if there is clearance on the ramps and deck, absolutely no need for them.

True, but the spacers also prevent the springs from compressing while going down the ramps. I dunno, I guess I'd rather take the extra few minutes to put them in than risk scraping the splitter.
