I've had two Duramax's in the past a 2003 and a 2006. Both were around $47,000 new. I ran the shit out of them . The new ones just cost too much and they cost too much to maintain in my book . DEF, $125 Oil changes, fuel filters ,I could go on and on.
Back when I had diesels I used them for work and put 60,000 - 80,000 miles in a year. I was a traveling Carpenter pulling a big trailer full of tools and building materials . Jobs were all over the 5 state area. I'm in Minnesota. Now I work directly for a local home builder doing some trim work and job supervisor . I only put about 25,000 miles a year only pulling a trailer a few times a year so I don't need a diesel anymore.
