^ I would recommend getting the Blizzak DMV1 in 225/65R17. The Studded tires make a lot of clicking on dry pavement. For a long drive that might get old. Otherwise the studded General would be competitive with the Blizzak in snow and ice performance. We haven't tested the General studded but did test the Firestone Winterforce studded and I still preferred the Blizzak.
