my home town of New Bern, NC, which was in the news a lot, was pretty much destroyed by flooding. (along with surrounding areas). My parents house had over 4 ft of water in it, destroying everything. I spoke with them, as they had went to my sisters house expecting the worst, and they are okay. They were in good spirits, but crushed with all the stress of getting it cleaned up and rebuilt. Lived there over 35 years, with 11 other hurricanes, none of them matched the rain and flooding like Florance. When it's safe to travel that way, I will be going to visit, and see what I can do and how I can help.
