Number 1 rule to cleaning pads: DO IT ASAP!

The longer you wait, the harder the pads are to get totally clean. It also makes the pads hard and brittle and causes them to come apart during and after cleaning.

I use to take two pads and scrub them together in order to clean them, using APC as my soap. That got them really clean as long as I did the cleaning right after I was done for the day..
