Its damn near impossible for the Silverado alone to outsell the f150. You have almost the exact same truck from the same company that is directly cross shopped taking a massive dent out of it sales.
I have always cross shopped them as the same vehicle. They are always so visually similar that though I may prefer one over the other it has never been different enough to sway me if I could get a better deal on the other at a different dealership. This means that I have almost always ended up in a Chevy because it seems their dealerships put more trucks on the lot and typically go to an invoice-minus price (and then all applicable rebates/incentives) immediately while the GMC guys try to "do the dance".
