You won't gain much with shorties by themselves in either sound or power. Add a set of high flow cats with the shorties to really maximize the set up. Getting ride of the factory cats is probably one of the best ways to add some easy volume and power. Another nice trick is to have the factory resonators cut out of the mid pipe. No power gains but you'll add some volume to your system for sure.
