Hi Cheryl,
I would say one valance is for the smaller exhaust tips of the V-6 and one for the larger exhaust tips for the V-8. SS.
I looked at my valance and it seems like it has reduced room because the exhaust tips are bigger.
Hope I didn't confuse you but thanks for posting, they would look great on my SS.
