This kit is the answer. It's disgusting what the vendors are asking for the 9" conversions. (There, I said it). I'm sure they had to price it to remain profitable, but there were no alternatives out there at the time so people who need stronger had to pony up.

This puppy is half the price of an aftermarket 9", axles and driveshaft, and I bet it is stronger too. You can bet that 50x more R&D and testing went into these than any aftermarket company could afford to do, if they had the equipment and computer sim power and software.
