Stock manifolds, no cats, enough backpressure?

Only mods are CAI, resonator delete (x pipe in it's place), stock mufflers replaced with Borla XR-1's. I'm happy with the tone, but not with the volume. I've run this setup before on my 98 WS6 (cammed, LT's, ORX and bullet mufflers and dumped pre-axle) and the XR-1's sounded amazing. Do you guys think that stock manifolds with no cats will still provide enough backpressure to maintain most of my low-end torque?

I don't plan on EVER doing anything else other than LT's (50% chance of that in a year), and I want to maintain a decent bit of my low-end torque. My plan is to cut off the stock cats but flange both ends of the pipes, and then flange some offroad pipes so I can always go back to having cats for inspections or longer road trips.

Questions/comments/concerns? Lemme hear em!
