Your weather is similar to mine here in southern Arizona, USA. My altitude is over 3000 feet above sea level, so out air is thin. While I only have a V6, I drive it like a Camaro should ("spirited and cruising") and average 22mpg.

Not sure about the V6. But the fuel filter on the V8 is located inside the fuel tank.
