Yeah, that is a nice place. I did a similar road trip when I was 21 (actually turned 21 in LA). Went with the whole family, and hit Bryce & Zion and skipped Mt. Rushmore.
Learned a valuable lesson on that trip: don't drive with the sunroof out in the July sun through Nevada. The top of my head was toast and I have a full head of thick hair.
