Tires?
From another Forum member I purchased a new set of ZL1 replica wheels, style 41 in the silver machine finish. Upon receipt I decided I wanted to powder coat this square setup gloss black. Now that the powder coating is finished it's time for tires.
I have a 2014 2LT/RS, I am nearly 70 years young and majority of my hell raising years are far gone. I have gone through 2 sets of Pirelli P Zeros and currently running 245/40/20 Goodyear Eagles on all 4 corners (square setup) with 2019 Camaro black wheels which the width is 8.5". I do have a spare set of Pirelli Cinturato P7 all season in size 255/40/20 which would work on the new ZL1 10" wheels, but I think the 275/35/20 would be a better fit.
The new ZL1 wheels are 10" width. I have decided to go with the 275/35/20 tires. Going to this size I lose .07" side wall height, gain 1.18" tire width, lose .14 tire diameter, speedometer will read 70.35 at 70 MPH. Overall I am satisficed with this portion.
I need a little encouragement deciding which tire I want to go with. Knowing I am looking for a decent ride though I want a tire that offers a much better tread wear. I have selected two tires;
275/35/20
1. Continental Extreme Contact DWS06 $824/4 @ 560 with 50K warranty
2. Nitto Motivo $896.00/4 @ 560 with 60K warranty
I really respect your input so please post your thoughts on which tire you would go with and why?
