Heat tape necessary for carbon hood?
I've got an Anderson Composites vented hood. Just curious to see if heat tape is necessary to protect it. Not boosted or anything. Standard intake manifold up top. Just removed the cover (wasn't a fan of the look)

Okay so I contact Anderson Composites and they have a 24x48 sheet for 75 bucks and they suggest buying three sheets of it. Any cheaper options?

On my previous applications, I always used a 1/2" thick sheet/roll of aircraft quality accoustical foam, with a reflective Mylar facing, and cut it up for a neat custom fit.
Not the cheapest option I'm sure, but still a bit cheaper than what you were offered. Any pics of that new Anderson hood? Which model did you choose? |
