OK to use for Amp Ground?
I want to use one of the studs that holds the trunk cowling as the ground for a replacement amp. I wire brushed the pain off it and got 12+v reading
at the stud base. Is there any danger to screw the fastener back on as long as it doesn’t touch the ground ring terminal? |

That battery post terminal isn’t really a ground as it’s part of the battery and not the chassis. I’m already using the trunk ground stud for two other grounds so I’m reluctant to disturb it to add another ring connector, plus I’m thinking I might get some noise from it because of the other
connections ? Last edited by camguynj; 05-26-2024 at 10:44 PM. |

I used it not for the Main ground but the amp had another ground wire for another feature and I hooked it up there, It appears to be working fine.

I used the battery also without issue. Or like other OP said, get a longer bolt.
Another option is one of the bolts on the battery cover bracket as long as you remove paint. Check it with a meter.

Amp is in and playing fine … turn signal blinker sound is louder too! I did wind up using the lower trunk cowling stud but didn’t screw the cargo net retainer nut back on. Both cowling and net fit fine Thanks for the replies and suggestions.
ps - BIG shout out to Steve at ******** for his FARK harness and eom-fit mounting board ! |

Agree with that, not sure why It's censored here, but I have bought several quality parts from him!
Congrats on getting it done.
