Is there another alternative for the rotors. 800$ for just rotors is insane.

There are the brembo ones from rock auto mentioned on previous page, looks like basically same thing but at around $600 for a pair, still a lot for just the rotors but it's less then alternative, I think CTSV front rotors are a little cheaper, feel like I remember a single piece one that was supposedly lighter that costs a good bit less.

Lots of choices on Rock Auto
I bought some Centric brand on there. They(centric) also make Power Stop and Stop Tech as well

Thanks. I forgot about rock auto. Was looking at partsgeek, but I'm not confident with their fitment guide.

Bringing up this thread as I am a new 5th Gen owner and looking into this upgrade. Has anyone used the reman Nugeon brand CTS-V calipers from Rockauto? They are a very reasonable $232 CAD including core charge, compared to $550 CAD for new GM. It looks like they come without the V-series logo which is a nice "feature".

Your eBay deal was good, but the problem for me is there would be at least another $100 USD shipping on that, and $1k USD is almost $1400 CAD for used stuff. The Nugeon calipers, rotors, and Brembo pad set is about $1600 CAD shipped including all taxes and duties from Rockauto. Finding this kinda stuff used in Canada is tough.

I have everything from RA. They have the cross overs installed and come with all the hardware. I got Red as they didn't have Yellow in stock. Not installed yet though as I got cut off and bent 2 of my ZL1 5 spoke rims on a curb. I don't think the 6 pistons will fit with my Giovanna Dalars. I need to make a trip to Wheel Wizards in Hamilton to see if they can be repaired.

Curious why most people go for the more expensive 2-piece rotors, is it just for looks? From what I've read the dual-cast rotor is actually about 2 lbs lighter and cheaper. It also looks like the rotor ring isn't replaceable with the 2-piece rotors, kinda defeats the purpose IMO.
I assume not, but are any of the aftermarket rotors like Bendix, Wagner, and R1 Concepts dual cast like the original CTS-V rotors? The R1 concepts seem like popular replacements on the CTS-V forums, but most note that they are heavier than the originals. |
