Texas speed limits

I've only been from Dallas to Austin and SA since I've been in TX but, where are there 80 mph limit roads here? This article says they're considering raising it to 85, which is fine by me.

there are only two places where its currently 80 mph. a 432-mile stretch of Interstate 10 between El Paso and Kerrville, and 89 miles of Interstate 20 between Monahans and the I-10 interchange.

Sir Nuke is right on the money with his post. I personally have only been on the I-10 route near Kerrville headed west. Its 80mph for passenger vehicles... still only 70 mph for truckers.

Here is a map that shows speed limits. It's not too detailed but it shows where in Texas the higher speed limits are.

This is a link to wikipedia

It's an ancient myth which police use to gather revenue.

What's funny is that the I-10 strip from San Antonio to El Paso is mostly 80, and the majority of the cars are under 80, usually around 75. Not sure if it's because they think it's 70 and they're "speeding," or if they know and are just happy to go over 70.
