My long anticipated "1st day out" is a bummer!

I decided tomorrow would be my first day out this year with the Camaro. I have missed it and the nice weather is sooo inviting. Realized there was an oil leak and after lifting it and peering around it is pretty obvious that my 12k accumulated miles have given birth to an oil pan gasket leak...Dang...in to the dealer tomorrow for repairs. I hope this is not a sign of things to come with it this year. I will spend some time going over the entire interior and exterior prior to handing the service manager the keys, as I have no intention of returning and finding one single scratch on my baby! Will also let them know it better have a nice warm bed INSIDE the building! Okay, maybe my husband is right and I am a little too sensitive about it?

That is terrible. It's crazy that it has an oil leak after 12,000 miles.

I'm beginning to wonder if this is a common problem with Camao's. Your's is the 3rd post I've seen in the last couple weeks regarding oil pan leaks.

I see you have a 2010, I also have a 2010 and ended up last spring with a leak only it was the oil cooler not the pan, and they had problems with the oil cooloers on these cars which I found out about on this forum. Only a couple days to replace oil cooler.

Or you could just fix it yourself... Really not that hard to avoid the dealer scratching up your car and not treating it as nicely as you would.

yeah but he has to put more oil in to get it to the dealer, so he has to pay for it anyway.

I had an oil leak at 10,000 miles. After tracking it down the dealer did not tighten the oil filter! The last time I go there.
