ZL1 Wheel Black
So I gashed my right front wheel this summer. I have the black 10 spoke wheels. I want to buy a new one, however, I can only find replica or reproduction wheels. I'm afraid by going with either that the color will be off from the stock rims. Does anyone know if there are factory production wheels? If so where? It's the 20x10 23 offset front passenger wheel.
Thanks, Brandon

Hi Brandon,
I did the same (man that sucks!!). I had my rim refinished and it looks like new. I know my contact is in Canada, but at least you can see their site to get an idea. http://www.carcone.com/index.html |

If it's just curb-rash you can go to a wheel place and get it fixed for $100-$300 depending on the damage.

the wheel fix it places sometimes have mobile service too. They usually sand the scrape, add filler, and paint it. I have been amazed by their skill in my area.

We'll I called a wheel repair place and they came out and quoted it at like $350. I dropped the wheel into a car wash thing before I knew the tires were to wide so it's like edge of the spokes all the way around. I found on Phastek Performance a reproduction wheel for $260. Just hesitant because of the finish. Think Ill call Monday and see if it's returnable if it is not the same color or shades off as stock.

If you are wanting to just replace (1) wheel. Some people may notice. I just wanted to give you a heads up. http://i805.photobucket.com/albums/y...psd923f60e.jpg Here is a good comparison of the two side by side. |

Doesn't really look like there is much of a difference to be honest. And I was looking at other wheels, but I really like the stock 10 spoke

I'd rather the repaired OEM wheel. I'm sure the replica doesn't weigh the same and has other differences.

I would just repair the wheel, I have damaged two of mine. You buy a new wheel that may not be the exact same wheel and by some bad chance you scratch that one now you have two damaged wheels. Your money anyway, best of luck with it.

No clue on the weight, however I can tell you I have a set of Fractory Reproduction rims as part of my winter setup and they are noticeably heavier than the OEM rims.

I gave my passenger side rear the gentlest of rubs on a curb last week.
I masked it up and sprayed the area with plasti dip as a temporary fix until I get a wheel guy to look at it. You'd never know it'd been marked. I hope this helps Cheers
