PTM3??

Since I am just past my break-in period and we finally got weather over 60, I tried PTM3 for the first time. Upon using it, the gas pedal had a different feel to it and it felt like I felt the road surface through the pedal more.

Am I nuts? Is the pedal itself supposed to feel differently, almost like the pedal resistance is different than in PTM2?

I know PTM3 supposedly has more engine power available, but is that true or is it just a more sensitive throttle? How could PTM2 not have the full 580hp/556ft.lbs. available to it?

Try ptm 5 and you will really notice the lesser power steering and tighter suspension

So you are saying that different pedal feel is normal?

Yes, same shoes. Feeling the road surface through the pedal is probably the Sport suspension. I still feel like the throttle resistance is different.

PTM3 is the first of the (3) sport modes, PTM5 being RACE. PTM3 will tighten up the suspension, tighten the steering, and protect you from oversteer (tail out).... you always have full access to power just that PTM3 keeps the "nanny" there to protect. PTM4 is where you have a chance of a quicker oversteer situation.......PTM5 is something to honestly respect because your suspension is rock hard, steering much tighter (you can feel a significant difference in 5).... full power access. I suspect most that ball their car up are in PTM4 or 5 .... not at a drag strip....and it all happens just-that-fast. In none of them would the pedal feel different. (You may notice a difference in pedal movement and engine response for what is taking place)

The reason I asked if PTM2 truly had less power is because in the owner's manual it reads that PTM3 has more power than PTMII. Intuitively, it doesn't make sense to me. On my BMW M3s you could adjust the throttle response, but the power was the same for all settings.

It's not that the engine produces less HP, it's the computer not letting you have it all under certain parameters. Remember the throttle is ran by the computer, not a cable from the peddle. Under identical situations, the computer will command more throttle in PTM 3 than PTM 2, even though you could be holding the peddle at WOT for both.
