It just occurred to me that the guys at Pontiac use the slogan "The most powerful car under 30 000". Well, the boys at GM are going to have to do one of two things. Either keep the G8 as the most powerful car under 30 000, or eat their words.

That's very true. Chevrolet will have that spot or Pontiac will have to add horsepower to the G8. If Pontiac makes the 550-hp G8 GXP, they will still have that spot.

The GXP has 400 hp, for now, and is more than 30k. And the G8 will have a full year to use that for their ads.

Interesting discussion. The slogan is just that, a slogan.. If the Camaro suddenly get's the new slogan by being the fastest car available under $30K, GM will switch the campaign over to the Camaro (or new slogan) or raise the horsepower of the base G8 which is highly unlikely. The G8 GXP is not what the slogan is talking about anyways as was mentioned above because it is way over 30K... They could have a fastest car under $40K theme going to compete with the GT500 which is currently the fastest car in that price range (as Top Gear's Clarkson would put it.. in a straight line

)

They can also change it to "most power in it's class" or "most powerful sedan under $30k" or something like that.
