DD set of Rims and tires
OK, I am looking into buying a set of RIMS and tires for just daily driving and keep my current ZL1 rims for just track days. I was looking at maybe another set of black 10 spoke knock off ZL1 rims or maybe the new black knock off Z28 rims. Not set on anything yet.
The tire I would want would be something that I do not have to worry about the temp being above 40 degrees but still provide a great ride for spirited driving. Another possibility would be a square setup so I could rotate the tires, just a thought. I also want to make sure the new rim and tire sizes do not mess up anything with the mag ride or the different modes the ZL1 has. I remember reading when the ZL1 first came out where the rims and tires were made for the car and the car was dialed in for the rim and tire sizes that come on the car. Not sure if that is really an issue or not. Any suggestions on rim and tire combinations?

I would just buy replicas and stick with OEM sizes then throw some MPSS's on them. That's what I'm running now and at least the tires won't crack and when they are warm they grip better than the POS GY's. Just my opinion.

When the weather breaks here, I'm buying a set of the Michelin Pilot SS's for mine and a set of Nitto 555 DRs. The GYs come with way too much baggage.

I'm using the 1LEs replicas for my 1LE winter driving but I would have gotten the z28 replicas if they had been available at the time i bought my set, just to change the look a little you know!

I am leaning towards a square set up of the Z28 replicas for my DD rims but really not 100% sure yet.

305/35 and 275/35 are all they offer right now for us.
The prices are insanely low, but its a summer tire too and who knows what capabilities or deficiencies it will have as no real life testing has been done yet. They are too new still, but MT makes great tires and they look great too!

No its not a summer tire. I called the company. They stated they are a high performance tire, not a summer only tire. I was out today with the car and its 19 degree's out the tires have excellent grip, last night we had damp roads and me and the wife took a ride I was curious it was fine just like any street tire maybe better. The back tires are 305 the fronts are 275. I put them next to the 285's and you can not tell the difference's in the sizes less the half a millimeter. Over Christmas there was a tire company in California that was selling the 305's for $120.00 a tire. I got 2.

Do the 275's look stretched on the front 20x10's?

Believe me I was so annoyed at the Goodyear's I had to find another tire. I use this car every day. When I purchased this car in December, no one at the dealer said a thing about the tires, But the 60mile ride home on 30 degree roads woke me up. If the Goodyear's are great at the track, great. My car, and I would say 90% of the ZL 1's will never see the track and Chevy should provide a all season tire from the factory for us, the ones who use the car and do not live in Florida...

Why not use your OEM wheels as DD and get something cheap for track days ?
