Should I flush the Radiator

I had the thermostat replaced after an overheating incident and don't know what type of coolant was added. Should I just flush the radiator and start from scratch? If so, how much DEX-COOL does the entire system take?
LLT engine w/ m6 and 111722 miles on it.
Thanks in advance!

Who did the thermostat? Flushing the whole system at the same time would have been the thing to do. Maybe they did. Look at your receipt, call and ask. Coolant system should be flushed about every 5 years.

The receipt just says "Coolant added" so I'm kind of leaning toward just flushing and putting dex cool back in. I cannot reach the mechanic right now. So I do not know what specifically he added. And I know that the 5 year is just about up if not already. How much coolant should I buy? I can't seem to find the amount it takes.

I don't know how much to add. I would have to do some researching. I used to do this stuff myself out in the driveway with a hose filling and emptying the system till it was clean, then refilling correctly. Anymore I just take it to the dealer.

So what is the best way to do this?
Drain it, fill with water, run it, drain it, fill with 50-50 dex cool and burp it?

That is what I am doing in the spring. Drain, fill with 50/50 Dex to boost the corrosion resistant additives.
