Well to see if mine was broke in or not, I found a safe place to do my 0-60 time. I'm assuming you'd get a worse time if it wasn't broken in, so you might wanna try that.

I also have a V6 manual and started to notice a difference just before 800 miles. After 1100 it seemed even stronger. It could be all in my head but it does feel like it's got more power now at 1200 miles than when new.
Maybe this would be a good excuse to take a 500 mile road trip, "Honey I have to finish breaking in the engine". |

Dunno about a V6, but my V8 opened up at around 300miles. I've been driving it like I'm in GTA since the second I signed the papers though.

I am a firm believer of MOTO man break in secrets. I applied it to my sport bike and it worked outstanding. I broke in the bike engine on the track. I will be applying it to the camaro once I receive mine.

"Break-in" procedures are like religions... So many different "beliefs" but no hard facts or proof to back them up...
So do what you think is best |

I've heard several people say that around 1000 miles you can tell the engine has let loose. I have driven mine somewhat easy for the first 1,500. After my first oil change I noticed some increase responsiveness.

every motor is going to be a little different. a few .001 difference on each bearing will make a difference in the miles it takes to wake up.

![]() I took a trip to Williamsburg,VA and on my way back home i rolled over 800 miles and the car seemed to feel different. Looser is a good way to put,not saying my car gets around or anything .....hahaha, sorry i couldnt resist saying that. Anyway, I am at about 1350 miles myself and am also going to change the oil and fluids once i hit 1500. That will most likely be after this weekend bc I am taking the car to the Jersey shore, which is another good run.

i have 6800 miles on mine and man this thing is very touchy. It really flys. Be patient, some people just seem not to want to wait. Really you only have 800 or so miles, I mean come one do you really need to ask when you can expect a break in. Read the manual were it says 1500 miles, even then the car isn't fully broke in.
