Portland Area Car Wash(es)
I detest the thought of taking my convertible to a car wash. I think the brushes of a traditional car wash, the solvents of a touchless car wash & the strong air blowers of both against the top, will wreak havoc on it. I live in a condominium though & there's no space to wash it.
![]() I've looked into hand car washes, but $35-$65 for a car wash is a hefty price to pay. Does someone know of alternative(s) in Portland or the surrounding areas?

I use a self wash behind tonys smoke shop on mcgloughlin. Warm water with all the goodies! Also takes card instead of using 10$s in qauters!

Scrubby's Car Wash!

I found that you're referring to Scrubby's at SE McLoughlin & it uses foam brushes too! You've validated what Tyler described & I look forward to visiting them. Thanks!

You can always run through the regular touchless wash and then dont go through the dryer when its going? Hand dry after... thats if you want to spend like 5-7 bucks.

Everything I've read states that touchless car washes use harsh solvents to make up for the lack of brushes & over time they damage the paint.

I would never use any sort of automated car wash. I've seen what those harsh chemicals do. I go to a selve serve place just off of MLK (not Mr. Car Wash) that has a credit card swiper. The water used with the pressure washer is warm. I bring my own buckets, soaps, cleaners, sponges, microfiber towels, and even waxed my car there. The only time that is frowned upon if it is busy and there are people waiting for a bay. Realistically, I only use this place for their pressure washer and cover.

3 months later...
Scrubby's has been great! I choose their basic wash to avoid most chemicals, have them hand wash the car with a mitt before running it through & they turn off the blower to protect the top.
