Hi-flo cats

I would like to put some high flow cats on my 1LE & keep the dual mode exhaust.

I am not doing headers, & wondered which brands of hf cats bolt right up to my factory exhaust.

I'm pretty sure Solo is 1 option.

What other brands will fit without cutting my factory exhaust ?

Solo, JBA, ARH and Motiv Concept are the only brands I know of.

I had Solos on my car for years. When I took the solos off and moved to JBA catless midpipes I noticed the Solo cats were failing. Pieces were broken and falling out and the entire cat portion was moving back and forth.

If I were to do it again, I would have bought the cheaper JBAs and saved money.

Scene: one month later. Hi all, I have solo hi Flo cats and want to add headers. Will these bolt up or will I have to buy new?

Lol

JBAs seem to be a popular option

Why no headers?

I had jba hiflows on four four years. No issues and internals are all intact and look fine. I gained 10 lbs ft of tq. From 2400 rpm up throughout the range. Peak tq was also 10. Peak hp was 15 at 5600 rpm, but fell off rapidly from 5700. Only made 4 hp at 6200

ARH hands down...and I am one of the few bucking the trend and running JBA shorties...Ted Jannetty did a side by side comparison of H/F cat vs straight pipe... 1 HP diff.

plus I can and have passed MD emissions no problem...

where in PA?

good luck!

peace

I had headers 20+ years ago on several small block Chevy engines, & I got tired of loose bolts & leaking gaskets. Plus, I don't like how low they hang down. The roads around southwestern PA suck.
