Bent end links with new sway bars

I have heard the the stock end links are overmatched by aftermarket sway bars. I have also read that one aftermarket company bent theirs while testing their sway bars. My question is, has anyone had any issues with their stock end links after installing aftermarket sway bars during use on the road? I do not want to invest in these if it is more of just an issue for those who take their cars to the track.

I have about 4,000 miles on my Pfadt setup (front and rear sway bars as well as lowering springs) and no issues with the stock end links. This is with street corner carving and no track time.

We have only had one on site occurrence of this issue with a client of ours. He purchased a set of Pfadt sway bars, and had completed 2 auto x events, and then as well about 2000 street miles, he came to us complaining of a little noise in the front on turn in. We inspected the car, and certainly plain as day the factory link was bent up pretty good, and on both sides. The client said he also thought it was possible it happened during some bad roadways he had traveled on...Not certain on either account personally, but I do believe the factory links are fine with in reason, and should be inspected every so often for trueness.

Regards

I've seen quite a few end links fail after upgrading sway bars but its not really an issue until they do, and they may not ever fail if you don't track your car. I'd say keep the cash in your pocket and upgrade if it becomes necessary.

Pedders decided to do a much larger and stronger end link because we bent the OEs at track testing. This is why we sell them with our bars.

To bend our end links will require an serious offroad experience. With that, a bent end link will be the least of your concerns.

Mike, has anyone bent the rear lower control arm at the endlink attachment point? I had to bend mine back into shape on the passenger side about 3/16" when doing some bushings. Also, do the Pedders endlinks match or increase the contact area at the attachment points to disperse the load?

I am not aware of any of the rear stuff bend. The contact area is increased by 2mm at least. However, to really spread the load install flat washers. We include 2 of them with our kits.

thanks
