Need Some Advice!
Hey guys hows it going, i am new to the site... Seems like the best place to come for all things camaro... I just started doing the field work on buying a new camaro this week. This will really be the first new car i have purchased so going about finding a good deal and insurance and all those things are not exactly common ground for me. I have quotes from 10 dealers. I have narrowed down my search and decided on a Rally Yellow 2011 1SS/rs with the black hockey stripes. Still might go with White or Imperial Blue though got some options there though.
1 dealer quoted 33,900 its an auto 1ss with the rally yellow and black hockey stripes. Good Deal or is there more to be had in the price? 1 dealer quoted 31,500 its a manual 1ss white i believe no striping. Good deal or what? I found good insurance coverage 122 a month for full coverage on it so i am good there i believe. Anyway great to be here and if you guys have any help or advice i would greatly appreciate it. Thanks guys Last edited by V8 R4C1NG X9; 07-28-2010 at 10:46 PM. |

the auto and stripes obviously cost more so thats what is making the 2k difference...
my opinion: definitely go manual all the way!! get extra hp, save yourself 2 grand, and have a more fun and performance oriented car. also, the 2 grand savings can be easily be used to buy stripes for your car that are probably gonna be better than dealership quality... and you will still have money left for other mods welcome to the forum |

Get the Auto. Manuals make you regress to a more caveman like train of thought.
![]() Yes, and another welcome to the site. Glad to have you. I would agree with iwantacamaro in that you could save yourself some instant cake with the manual. However, it's your decision. You could possibly get better pricing somewhere else, but the pricing sounds fair. All is left is for youto pull the trigger.

My vote's the auto with the stripes! But I can tell you this. Check out online prices at Chevy. If he's asking a penny over sticker, take your dollars and walk my friend! I talked to 17 dealers who wanted 5 grand over MSRP before I found one who'd take sticker price.

Ok, thank god there are only five other posts. Listen, and listen carefully. You will be told to get a manual, to get an auto, to get stripes, to get no stripes, to get 1SS, or 2SS, or 1LT, etc. etc. etc. You get what YOU want. What does your heart say to you. I understand Money. but if the difference is only a couple grand....Get what your heart tells you to get. The last thing you want to do is regret what you got, because you had some people tell you to go with what THEY would want. Believe me there are some on this site that will tell you that a Black SS with manual transmission is the only real Camaro. For instance, I drive a RJT 2SS/RS in AUTO. And I have been accused of not having "Male parts" because I didn't get a Manual. It doesn't matter to those people that I have driven Manual for 20 years. Anyway, get what YOU want. Do not settle on anything. Especially over a couple Grand differance. This will be YOUR baby. Make her how you want her. Good luck and welcome to the Forum
By the way, what part of Indy?

drive the auto / drive the manual... while driving think about your daily driving / traffic...
then make your decision... the stripes can wait.... easily added later if you regret not getting them. enjoy! |

The rally yellow w/black stripes is probably the most common color on the Camaro from what I've seen on the road (transformer nerds haha). Even though it has a more generic look, I don't think anyone can deny that it does look outstanding, and the hockey stripe package is even better yet.
I haven't seen a white one on the road before so I don't know if it'd look good but that car just seems to me like it wouldn't look good in white. Since I have the imperial blue I strongly recommend it because the metallic shines beautifully in sunlight and it just looks better than the other colors. But you're the one who's seen those cars and you're the only one who can make that decision. Whichever one you choose, i guarantee you won't regret it. |

Get the car you want. If you are financing, the 2K won't really make a difference. And white looks fantastic.

No stripes, you can get them for cheaper from vendors on here like ridergraphix. Plus there are more to choose from. www.ridergraphix.com
I say manual just because I have one and it is more fun, but if you prefer autos then get an auto.

Here comes the flogging of the dead horse one more time on transmissions. Get either of them. They are both priced near MSRP. The automatic was a $995.00 option in 2010 and the stripes were around $500.00 dealer installed. Enjoy!
