Black Box (Bosch Logo On It) - Camaro5 Chevy Camaro Forum / Camaro ZL1, SS and V6 Forums

Ok, I tried searching for an answer to this one and I can't find it here or on the web anywhere. There is a "black box" with a cover on that will snap off on the passengers side of the rearview mirror. If you snap the cover off it looks exactly like a cellphone or a cellphone battery of some sort. Has the Bosch logo on it. Now here's the odd part. This is on my wife's 2LT/RS. My 2SS/RS doesn't have it. Oh, and there is a connector coming out of the drivers side of it. Yeah, I'm clueless. Anyone have any ideas?

I think that is the module/antenna for the remote start/keyless entry,
does your wife's car has remote start and your does not?

if that is the case your car does have it but is somewhere under the dash, they move that module there to extend the reach of the signal on the remote start cars.

remote start and keyless entry module..incase u didnt notice these cars get really good range on the factory remote compared to standard systems.

Hell yeah I noticed. I've easily used the remote start from about 200ft.

Do you have the standard transmission and your wife have the automatic transmission?

If this is the case, then everyone is spot on with the remote start. Otherwise,

LOL. Noooo, not that Black Box (the one on YouTube is much nicer to look at, and no, I don't mean Cleveland). But yeah hers is an automatic. Remote Start it is. Thanks for the input and the laughs.
