Valve Springs???
I'm looking to get a cam real soon and I am leaning towards the nite fury cam.
I want to put the best supporting parts possible from the get go that are the most reliable and durable and need the least maintenance. I'm just down to deciding which valve spring kit to go with? -Should I go with the Manley, the EHT springs from Texas Speed, or the Pac 1208s that come with the nite fury cam kit? -If anyone has experience with any of these about how many miles can I look to get out of them safely before having to replace them? I go to the drag strip only about two to three times a year and i dont drive it like i stole it every time, just every once in a while when i want to be reminded of the power =) |

You probably want to go with a double spring conidering the cam your thinking of runnig pac manley psi crower are top of the line you cant go wrong with any of this. Make sure to match te springs to the cam you decide on

It varies.
Valvesprings on high lift cams are definitely not lifetime/high miileage parts. PAC springs IMO are the best. |

I have EHT springs. I plan to change them out every 30k. So far so good. My cam has over .650 lift so I needed a good spring. I have heard good things about the Manleys as well.

You get the springs that the guys at lethal recommend for that cam.
Best supporting mods to me are: 1) melling oil pump iirc it's the (12096?) 2) C5r timing chain by katech 3) comp chromoly pushrods 4) Replacing the chain tensioner with an Ls2 dampner (aka dog bone) because it has no moving parts and won't wear out. Just my .2

My only difference is I used trick flow chromoly pushrods. The chain dampener is a MUST for how brittle the ls3 tensioner is. As for springs I think Texas speed has PRC springs good for 675. I have the 650 ones. |

Yea I also agree with the supporting mods I might as well do the oil pump since it has to come out for the upgraded timing chain. Changing them out about 30k miles seems reasonable to me like Vader said so i'm looking for something that I would feel comfortable leaving them on for that long. |

I second that. Stay away from Patriot Golds. They cost me a lot of money when they failed. The Brian Tooley springs made my valvetrain much quieter as well.

For someone wanting a less aggressive spring the PRC .650" double spring kit is also a very good spring kit. It doesn't lose install pressures overtime, or lose height like the old gold/platinum springs from many years ago. We also offer a Tool steel retainer kit for anyone wanting to save a little $$$ Last edited by Jason 98 TA; 01-17-2013 at 10:57 AM. |

About how many miles can I run the 675 springs before having to check them? Could you pm me a price for the whole kit with titanium retainers? |
