catback input
looking to buying a catback for my LS3. i havent heard any with exhaust in person and i hate trying to decide based on youtube videos because they dont do it justice. im looking for something with quality sound through all rpms. it doesnt have to be loud because i dont think exhaust has to be loud to sound good. i thought my LS1 sounded great with magnaflow but id like to try something different

I did not go with the Flowmaster AMT system but I did come close with the custom work I had done at a local shop. Got out much cheaper and absolutely love the sound/performance. The more aggressive rev clip in my sig is my favorite. You are right about sound clips not doing justice but many people don't have the opportunity to hear what it sounds like in person...I sure didn't but I made the perfect choice for me. Basically got the car up on the lift with the exhaust guy and we first intended to install FM Super 44s in place of stock mufflers (axle back setup) but before we were through, we decided to replace the "H" pipe section with an "X" pipe section, replace the resonators with straight pipe, install FM Super 44 mufflers and finish it off with 4 inch stainless, beveled tips. All this after installing DT shorty headers though. LOL, the stock cats are the only thing that remained and he was able to easily remove my stock cat-back system all in 1 piece in case I wanted to sell it or re-install it later. Anyway, the CAI is next when the timing is right. Good luck!
