Pin 11 on the X3 amp connector?

Does anyone know what pin 11 is on the X3 connector (amplifier control). Should this be used on a new amp or should I just leave it?

What color is it? "Amplifier Control" to me would mean the remote turn on. It's used to turn amplifiers on and off.

It is orange, and I don't think that is right. I think you are thinking of pin 1 which is white and called remote enable.

I just took a peek at the diagram and it looks like it may be a mute wire for hands-free calling and such.

It is an active high mute wire. You don't need it for an aftermarket amp.

Ok thanks, that's great to know. But will I be able to use my bluetooth handsfree if it cannot mute itself, or the mute button on the steering wheel?

Those should still work fine. That signal seems to be used mostly when the car is turned on. I don't think it changes state in either BT or in response to the mute button.

I think the radio mutes the outputs not the amp. I know my subs mute along with my music when I hit the button and they are wired before the amp.
