That is a very big NO on the paint insurance.

The rim and tire insurance depends on what it covers. If it's just a one time replacement then don't get it as you can replace a rim or tire (or both if you buy used) for that much. If it just covers the tires that are currently on the car and not any future tires you buy, don't get it. If it does not cover pot holes or curb rash, don't get it. Oh and you can get rim and tire insurance cheaper from tire stores.

Pretty much what i was thinking. The wheel and tire insurance could be good but you really need to know the details of it to see its real worth.

Agree with the NO's.

It seems that dealers will always be slippery when it comes to holding up their end of the "we'll cover you for EVERYTHING deals". I've read countless threads on -

"this (insert: dent, nail in my tire, rim damage, windshield damage) happened to my camaro, I went to the dealer because I payed extra to be covered, and they told my coverage doesn't apply to this specific instance".

SAVE YOUR MONEY, and take care of little things as they happen. Remember, GM's warranty is good for 3(B2B) and 5 (Powertrain) years. The dealers are trying to make an extra buck on bullshit so called "insurance".

Again, my own opinion, and my deepest apologies to Scott and Becky. They seem like great people whom one can trust, and who don't dabble in scheme's of sorts.

No, everything already has a warranty on it. Heres the deal just the like Best Buy service plans that you buy for two years, its a bunch of bull and a scam. First off the warranty is going to be for 2-3 years or whatever. Well if you bring your car in they are going to try and get it fixed under warranty first, then if not they will use their warranty. Its the same thing with best buy.

I think they tried getting me for rust prohibitor which Ill never drive the camaro in the snow. I had an 01 WS6 that was never in the snow i sold it when it was 8 years old and I dont think there was a spot of rust on there. These are all gimics. You guys have to realize that dealers dont take a lot home on the sale of a car. It's usually between 1-2 grand depending on the vehicle. And your average salesman will only see 3-400 of that, the rest goes back into the business. So when they sell these hundred dollar plans and such this is where the dealer and the salesman get a pretty profit.

You need to listen to your own gut and not the rest of these guys. ALL insurance is a gamble and a rip off until you need it, then your happy as hell you have it.

To save or waste.......

Isn't is noted somewhere that the average owner trades automobiles in every three years or so .............. in that scenario, the additional warranties would be purely an unneccessary expenditure and money in the dealers purse.

Paint no Tire & Wheels IMHO if you have the 20" wheels yes I have used mine twice for nails in my tires. My Wheel & Tire package was $350 I have had two 20" tires replaced so far (service paid for itself after 1st tire replacement )
