I think stock you already have an h-pipe, an x-pipe should give you a little bit of hp and change the tone of the exhaust a bit

Resonated X more bottom/mid and a little peak hp so I'm told. Does lower and smooth tone. I have it with my magnaflow and D/T shorties.

I'm opening my system up to be 2.5 by the end of this week, I'm thinking I will add a resonated X pipe, but I heard that it is slightly more restirctive (because it is resonated) so slightly less hp.

Yea, I talked to Magnaflow about it and I quoted them in the last post. They said no restrictions do to design as it is like their mufflers. Also Don at Magnaflowplus says may act like headers as they say it has a scavanging effect at the back end of the unit(?)I added it when car was new to get "boom" reduced with the mufflers so not sure if it helped hp, maybe a couple?

Magnaflow part number 11385 is the resonated x-pipe with 2.25 " dual ins and outs that I used.

From Flowmaster:

Is an X-pipe better than an H-pipe?
Over the years, Flowmaster has performed extensive testing of all types of crossovers and X-pipes, and has revealed no substantial performance benefits over H-pipes in street applications. We have experienced that some specialized race applications such as small cubic inch engines and/or restricted (small bore) carburetors, will respond well to the addition of an X-pipe over an H-pipe. X-pipes will however, produce a unique and smoother exhaust tone.

Do they have one with 2.5 inch? And are you sure on the part #? When I search that I get a 4x9 oval muffler on their website.

Yep, just looked it up on magnaflowplus.com. That is the part number....it looks like a normal dual in dual out muffler on the outside, but is perforated and forms an X shape on the inside. and yep, they make a 2.5 inch as well.
