Pipe Bent..Help Quick

ok so I have had my exhaust for over 2 weeks now and finally have the time to put it on myself instead of forking out $200 to have it done. well I got it up on my ramps and got the pipes cut and all the stock crap out and now I got the AMT exhaust lined up and go to slide it over the stock piping and it wont go over because a portion of it is bent inwards.

now for some help. I got the rest of the night to get the exhaust on and completed because I got school early and work after and I am surely not driving around with pipes already cut. can someone help me out and give me some tips on how to bend it back. I dont care if i over expand it a bit because when i tighten the clamps it will shrinkit back down. i have tried everything to my knowledge and am truly ticked off the flowmasters would ship their products out like this.

thanks in advance.

Have you got an Autozone close by? The have an exhaust pipe expander on their loan-a-tool list.

Should be an easy fix. Get a piece of pipe as close to the I.D. as your exhaust pipe. It does not have to be the same size but the closer the better. , slip it in your exhaust pipe. Now tap on your exhaust pipe where it is bent. The inside pipe will act as a mandrel and yours will straighten out fairly easily.

well thanks for the posts. I bit the bullet and paid $25 to rent it at autozone .

but it worked like a charm and the beast sounds like it woke up. I love it, the injen and flowmaster sound so well together.

Now get the expander back to Autozone and get that money back.

Glad it worked out for you.

Just get an ajustable wrench, clamp it on the bend, and slowly work the bend out. Simple

My Flowmasters were also D shaped (both of them). It didn't look like they'd been damaged - both in exactly the same place etc. I've heard of a number of complaints about the same thing so it looks like Flowmaster sends them out like that. Wasn't too hard to fix and it was the ONLY complaint I had.

I love the sound combined with the INJEN intake!!
