What year Camaro did they try to mimic after for the 5th Gen?
Just want to clarify and make sure it was the 1969 Camaro where they took some of the major cosmetics from and everything...

I agree the 69 but more so, overall the Gen 1. I say this because there several things in this car and the 69 that the same component styling was found in the 67 and the 68 the tale lites are more like the 68 SS or the SS/RS (double and separated and reverse is low on the rear) unlike the 69. the 2 interior vents on each side were found originally in 67 as Astro Ventilation. The console with the gages were prior to 69. There more but these are a few.

There's info out there somewhere that states they never wanted to copy or bring back the retro look, however they wanted the car to be it's own look. They said there were characteristics taken from all gens and incorporated into this. If I had the link I would paste it, but I thought it was rather interesting.
