Explaining Boost lag

I am interested in getting boosted one of these days when money allows for it so I often read this forum.

I believe I am looking for a product that allows for a very linear power curve and in reading it appears the Vortech solution fit what I may want. However I am not looking to upgrade the internals and I would like something that is fairly easy on the engine as far as getting boosted can be.

So in reading it appears a twin turbo (top mount?) may be better suited. However from what I can gather the power may not be as linear? since the TT has to spool? I thought I read something where a good ball bearing TT helps get around this?

As you can see from the "?" I am a bit out of my depth here and I am not versed enough to even begin searching so I thought I would ask -

What is a good TT system that would provide a linear power curve (if that is possible) without too much boost lag?

Please try to avoid the Blowers versus TT debate as I understand blowers a bit better than I do TT so I am more focused on that part.

Thank you and cheers
K

Boost lag is the time it takes for your turbo to spool once you hit the gas. This is mainly a concern in 4 and 6 bangers with larger turbos on them. For a 6.2L motor to have any significant boost lag, you'd have to have a huge set of turbos on it. As an example, my old Talon turbo 2.3L stroker with a 60-1 would hit full boost (30psi) by about 3500rpm. That same turbo on a Camaro would hit full spool by 1500rpm or sooner. All the "street" kits that i've seen are designed for low spool time while still giving massive power. I wouldn't worry about boost lag with any of the units out there.
