Yesterday I had to go by Lowe's and pick up some decking boards. So I went by my dad's place and borrowed his truck. The trip is about 15 miles, mostly interstate and seems to be a popular hangout for cops to give out tickets. Worrying about my speed (needlessly I might add) I kept looking for my HUD to see how fast I was going. Not finding it, I automatically began searching for the bright/dim knob on the dash. Took me a few minutes to figure out what I was doing. Finally I got to Lowe's and picked up my supplies. And wouldn't you know it, I caught myself doing the same darn thing on the way home at least 3 times.

Sure hope the HUD becomes a standard feature in vehicles pretty soon, I don't know if I will ever be able to go back to looking at the dash.

Yea,
My wife & I think it should be on every car, less chances of taking your eyes off the road !, oh by the way your thread title is bit funny, I would of done it different, but that is me " I'm addicted to HUD" IMO, he he....
Oh ya, the cops here are bad too, I got a Passport 9500ix, I've had it for just over a yr and I love it, its kept me from getting many tickets, plus it will mark speed traps and remember them flawlessly, best money ever spent !

On this note, the speeding "ding" feature the Camaro has (forgot what it is called at the moment) is pretty cool too. Lets you know when you are going too fast. Love it. Helps keep the tickets away.

I know what you mean exactly. When I have to drive other cars, I now get annoyed when I have to look away from the road to check my speed. I was so used to it, but now it just seems like a pain!

Wish I had HUD but unfortunately I bought one of the first models from the plant. BUT, I'm not complaining, I love my RY 2SS!!!!!

My guy at Appleway Chevrolet took me out in the SS while they were changing my oil. Can't even see that HUD from the passenger side at all, but it's really nice when driving. I hope they come up with an aftermarket version soon. I'd snatch one right up.
Do I think "I shoulda got the V8?" Did I thunk myself on the head for not getting the SS? Nah. I'd get in way too much trouble. 300+ hp is plenty for this ol' gal. The SS we drove was a M6 and had the sunroof. Bob asked me if I was sorry I didn't get the sunroof. I just looked up through it and said "Not really, I'd do this (look up through it) way too much. He immediately reached up and slid the panel shut. Heheheh. Fun test drive. Got to drive it like I stole it on a nice curvy road.
Sorry, I digress... HUD +1
