Approach angle stock vs dropped

Does anybody know or has anybody measured the SS approach angle stock vs dropped 1 inch?

I want to drop my SS (when I get it) but I want to know if I'll be scrapping my bumper everywhere I go.

Just in case; The approach angle is the angle between the ground and a line running from the tire to the front bumper (as viewed from the side).

Thanks.

I have Hotchkis springs (about 1" drop) and I've only scrapped ever so slightly on a big speed bump. Other than that there's been no issues.

I have the GFX kit and dropped it 1.2" with the Eibach kit (springs and sways) and haven't had an issue with dragging on anything.

I haven't measured the height, but it will still pass over a standard parking stop without scraping. The little flap that sticks straight down doesn't much care for that though.

Im curious to this as well as I am looking to drop the car 1.4" (H&R) and want to know if I will still be able to drive onto ramps and lifts to do exhaust work etc. Any input?

Even leaving it all stock, if ya' drive right up to touch your front wheel to a parking space block, low as it is, it'll scratch the bottom edge of the front lower bumper. I got the marks on mine. The good thing is that you never notice 'em until you put the car up on a lift.

I have Eibach drop springs and long tube ARH headers. I no longer pull up to curbs of any kind. Header flange will scrap on the higher speed bumps, parking lot entrance/exits, if I do not go across at a angle. I have the standard stock 20" rims/tires.

Lowered rear 1 1/4" - normal driving ok - stay out of the 'dealers free car wash' - got hung up ever soooo slightly on the front exhaust clamp.

Anytime you lower your car, you need to relearn how to go over bumps and park. It isn't car specific, just common sense stuff. Take ALL bumps at an angle and NEVER pull all the way up in parking spaces that have a curb or bump stop. Any uneven driveways should also be taken at an angle. Even at stock height, my car would rub the lowest edge when going straight into my driveway. At an angle, it was no problem. Now that i'm dropped ~1.25in, I can still angle it in without rubbing. Straight in would be disasterous though.

With the amount of cars that are "slammed" from the factory, any decent alignment shop, muffler shop, or shop with lift will have a way to raise the car up to go onto their lifts. It may be professional ramps or 2x6's, haha.

I have BC racing coilovers and went 1 1/2" front and 1 3/4" back. My quarter flares have not appreciated the drop. I think I have scraped all 4 now on speed bumps. They hang a bit lower than my catalytic converters. I worry about what will happen when I put long tubes on. I also scrape the front on steep drives unless I take a pretty severe angle. People on here have posted instructions on building an approach ramp for your ramp to allow you to pull a lowered car on car ramps.

At 1.2" of drop my small floor jack still fits under my car. I have to go through the wheel well, then slide it to the lift points, but it still fits. If you take the same aproach with a post lift you will be ok.

I know all these tricks with my lowered 328 but there's always a steep entrance somewhere that you just can't drive in at an angle and that's what worries me. Also the wife factor.....
