Stripping clearcoat of wheels

I have 20" polished factory wheels and would like to strip the clearcoat and re-polish the wheels myself. Has anyone done this? What stripper did you use and what problems did you run into?

Yeah I thought of aircraft stripper, but I wasn't sure it would strip it
