Sorry in advance, still a bit confused

i must apologize right off the bat, i haven't been online much this week so i missed some information.

i've been searching the site and reading posts about the IDL broadcast. i have read about the information, as well as all the reactions and confusion of it all. i understand the production date is being pushed back a month. i don't mind this. i'm still getting my camaro. this just means i get a little more time to save money towards my car. i just hope my current car will last the extra time before i can finally get rid of it.

now this is what i'm confused about. i'm not sure if it was explained, and i can't find it anywhere. why is there a delay? did they come across some problems with the test fleet? i know they said the delay is not due to the ABL thing. i just want to know so i can tell my friends that GM didn't screw up, GM is just making my car that much better than your car, LOL.

on a side note, does anybody know the official MPG numbers for the manual V8? when will the V6's be in our dealerships, because i wanna see it. and does anybody really know how allocations work, and how GM is doing the allocations?

thank you everybody

as for the delays, fbodfather said that they were fixing some things on the cars & they'd rather delay production than release a car that would keep getting brought in for service. no mention of specifics.

no official mpg numbers on the LS3 yet, although we're told it's been bumped to 426hp (to mess with the challenger guys)

dealerships should be getting an assigned V6 model for the showroom around april/may-ish. then they will get to order a V6. as time progresses, they will be given more allotments, but GM will decide whether that's a V6 or V8. they plan on being able to have all the pre-orders filled by the fall of 09. that includes the SS models ordered. there ain't gonna be a delay on their production any more than the V6 models.

hope this helps
