Kicker ZX400.1 question

Hey guys,

I got a Kicker Zx400.1, and i am using the signal sence fuction of the amp to use it to turn on... thing is when the car is turned off the amp keeps turning on and off (if i change it over to the +12v and the dc offset it for about 30 secs it and change it back it will stop) i dont have the factory BA system, i never had a amp that has had this features (always have used a remote turn on) im tired of having to get into the truck and flip that switch every time i drive the car. (it turns on fine after i do this, but after i turn off the car it starts again)

Is there something im missing? im afraid that if i keep the amp on that setting it will drain the battery.

Thanks,

Firebreed

i've got a zx-400 hooked to the ba system and use the 12v to turn it on. haven't had any problems yet. if you're not hooked up through a ******** harness, i guess this doesn't help much.
one of the audio geeks will be along to help ya out soon.

The thing about signal sensing turn ons is that air pressure can turn them off/on. Meaning, as doors, trunk lid, is opened/closed, speakers move, thus sending a signal to the amp. It should turn right off as it senses no more signal, but it can lead to the issue you are referring too. I have no experience with the turn on feature in the Kicker amp you are using, so take this post with a grain of salt, lol.

There is a green wire in your center console that is switched, and I've read posts here that people have used it for turn on.

x2 - I dont have experience with the kicker signal sensing, but i have used other signal sensing items and have run into this. unless its popping through the system or causing problems, I wouldnt sweat it. if it IS... then use mrray's suggestion of the green wire, he's dead-on.
