Cleaning your Washing Pads
How do you clean your Washing pads, applicator pads etc?
Every time I wash my car, I finish with all kids of towels, and pads with different products on them. Some have VRT for the tires and inside of the car, others have Wax, and others are just down right nasty. I have been just throwing all of these in the washing machine and letting it do the work. However, I have wondered if the wax or other products might get on other towels and cause them not to dry as well next time. I have cut a little notch on all of the foam applicators so I know which applicator I use with which product. I try not to mix them. I also always hand wash my Car Washing pads. I want to be sure that I get all of the dirt out of these. I would be interested to hear what you guys do. |

I do the wheel MF towels, etc, really dirty stuff in one load. Then my wash pads/good MF towels in separate load.
I havent used the foam ones enough to need a wash, but I like the notch idea. |

I soak all of the towels in the sink with Dawn detergent and rinse them out before throwing them in the washing machine.

For all the good MF towels, washpads etc, those all go in the machine. Everything else gets handwashed in the sink with Adam's APC.

Never thought about using dawn and APC. These are good ideas. If the Dawn stripes the wax from the car it should be perfect for getting the wax off of your towels. I love the APC. I use it on stuff other than my car. It does a good job.

I clean all my foam pads and accessories with APC by hand.
Microfiber machine wash w/ liquid laundry detergent, extra rinse cycle, machine dry w/ no fabric softener on a low heat setting. I don't like to machine wash my wash pads, they get all gnarled up and nappy. Plus the synthetic wool fibers don't take too kindly to any heat. This is the method I use and it keeps my pads fresh much longer than machine washing (IMO) |

I wash the wash pads by hand. I learned it from your video. I had forgotten the APC part. Thanks for the advice.
