A cold air intake kit, long tube headers, and exhaust could get you to around 480

I don't think that you can get to 500HP from the SS LS3 with just the headers, CAI and catback exhaust. That would be a gain of over 70HP from those three items, I just don't see it. I think you would have to go with a cam to achieve 500HP.

I think that will get you to 498HP. Close enough? Throw two hampsters in the glovebox and you are there.

the newest thing to add horsepower to a car is to add stickers. usally performance brand stickers such as borla, magnaflow, flowmaster , yenko... give u at least 10hp each. however u can ad a gt-r badge to get a increase of 75 hp.

if u dont understand my jokes watch this vid

it made the mustnag run 11s it could eaily make the camaro run 9s

imo ur not gona get the ss to 500ponies with just bolt ons. ur gona have to cam it and tune it to achive 500+. with bolt ons u might be getting 460 at the most.

I can't stress this enough. SBCs—small block Chevy motors, for those who don't use the acronym—are very solid performers, and they respond well to upgrades. GMPP will offer a good catback exhaust, so I recommend that people with less than stellar trust in the aftermarket go that route; however, while GM is great at making production cars, they are not major producers of extremely high-performance upgrades. That being said, GM makes very fast performance cars, but the ones out of the factory can always be supplemented with well-researched additions.

I encourage you to investigate getting an aftermarket set of headers after production kicks into gear. Long-tube headers will easily outperform GMPP's shorties.

I also strongly recommend looking into cold-air intakes (CAIs) instead of GMPP's "box mod" setup. The reason for this is that GMPP is basically replacing the plastic stock setup with a metal one, and there is more that can be gained by using a company that specializes in this component, like K&N or AEM.

GMPP's exhaust, as I stated above, is very good. A lot of people like it on other cars. Some people routinely report getting better performance numbers with big names, like Borla, Magnaflow, Flowmaster, and a variety of other companies. If the only concern for you is performance, look at the dyno results for all of these, although I should point out that these are sometimes manipulated. Most exhausts will claim to earn a car similar numbers. None of them are going to be substantially superior unless the exhaust is heavily damaged before installation. Sound is also a concern for many enthusiasts, so investigate this by seeking sound bytes online. Many companies post these on their websites.

A tune will greatly increase the efficiency of your other modifications and help your computer react better to the changes and stresses that these parts place on your car. Tuning your car's computer can lead to damage if done poorly, so some people like to trust companies and local track experts to do this for a fee. Regardless of how you do this, be aware of the software used and the requirements of your new tune. Sometimes a tune mandates a particular octane of gas or that you shift at different times. It really depends on what you want and what the tuning program allows. Do lots of research on tunes, and try to learn a little about programs like HPTuners.

The above components will result in a substantial horsepower gain and are considered the best horsepower available for the money spent on parts and labor. If you want to get serious, then there are other options, but they require more study, research, and money to make them happen. They are also more risky, but with well-managed risk comes the reward of power. Some of these options include forced induction—superchargers, turbochargers, or nitrous oxide injection—along with supporting internal upgrades, like pistons and all of the other goodies under the cover of your engine. It is important to treat each of these parts with respect and to plan your upgrades so that every part that could break is replaced with one that can handle the power you are seeking. Be an expert on whatever you install.

The parrot is you. The joke is making the whoosh sound as it flies over your head.

That means that not only did you completely miss the joke, you decided to rape it by explaining it to everyone. And that makes Greg Norris kill a kitten.
